Thema is wijn en architectuur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ons hotel Viura in Eskuernaga (Villabuena de \u00c0lava in het Spaans) is een kubistisch brutalistisch design hotel. Het dorp bevat de grootste concentratie aan Bodega&#8217;s van de streek, dus krijgen we vele lokale wijntjes te proeven bij het diner. We gaan bij Izadi proeven en kopen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verder staan wijnproeverijen op het programma bij Marqu\u00e9s de Riscal, met een hotel van de Amerikaanse architect Frank Gehry, en bij Ysios, waar de wijnmakerij gehuisvest is in een prachtig gebouw van de Spaanse architect Santiago Calatrava. De wijntoer en bijhorende proeverij mogen er telkens ook zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De benen strekken we in het dorpje LaGuardia en de nabijgelegen lagune, en de volgende dag aan de voet van de Cantabrische bergen die het slechte Atlantische weer uit het Noorden tegenhouden en de wijnbouw hier mogelijk maken.
