De eerste overnachting is in Jarandilla de la Vera, waar we in de parador verblijven. In deze oude burcht verbleef keizer Karel V op weg naar het klooster van Yuste, dat we van hieruit gaan bezoeken. Hij sleet er zijn laatste levensdagen. We doen vanuit het klooster een mooie wandeling naar Gargante de la Olla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In het nationale park Monfrag\u00fce blijven we twee nachten in Villarreal de San Carlos om er een hele dag te kunnen wandelen. Op de rode wandeling zien we talloze Vale Gieren, en passeren we een grot met prehistorische schilderingen tot wel 8500 jaar oud.
